Nothing Beats The Original

I found this piece of music out of nowhere in my iTunes Library, and it has been on my weekly playlist ever since. Nothing beats the original.

Housestep Is The Future

I felt really great today, despite my illness (see previous post), and I decided to brainstorm on my mash up for SHS003 (coming to you this friday).

Somehow I came up with this:

Sander van Doorn vs. At Dawn We Rage - Reached Two Six (Jura Mash Up) by ThisIsJura2

"House and dub step in one file??!! Is he insane?"

Yes, but also very happy with the result! Producers all around us, acknowledge the power and fanbase of dub step. Times are changing in the EDM scene and producers are making a move on combining the two rivalry genres.

To name a few:

- Deadmau5:

- Jacob van Hage

- Albin Myers

Even Laidback Luke uses dubstep in his sets now. Time will tell if it's a good thing.

Sickness In The DJ-Booth & Change Of Tactics

It's been ages since my last post, BUT I can explain myself!

I've been feeling like crap for the past couple of months, and it turns out I'm a contestant for the Pfeiffer Disease. It's a disease where you feel utterly tired and restless the whole day.

Although I didn't feel like mixing, I've had all the time watching the EDM scene from my delightful throne of sickness (my bed). A giant tracklist has been made for the third edition of "Something Has Survived".

I've decided to change the game plan for my mixes. I figured a week for every mix is too short, since I'm not getting promos: I only got the tunes from beatport and if I need to make a mix every week, the mixes are just too short or filled with average tracks!

So I'll be posting my mixes now as "SHS 003", "SHS 004" ect.

It's not going to be every week but also not every month, expect 3 mixes a month. I'll spread them out.

Also, I'll post my weekly top 10 must download tracks (taken from my mixes).

Thanks for reading!

It took a while, but the weekly mixes have officially begun! Like my introduction mix, it features mostly House music. I divided the mix into several parts:

The Egg: The best set opener of this mix. When you play a set, you'd want to use this banger.

Evolution's Finest: My top 5 best track of this week. From five to one.

The Rex: The number one track of this week.

Minutes Till Impact: Some random good tracks.

The Big Bang: The absolute biggest, fattest drop of the week. People will go nuts on this one!

The Excavation: There's always room for an excellent classic in the weekly mixes!
