Why Size Matters

Jura (SHS) - Why Size Matters by ThisIsJura2

REMOVED BUT ABLE TO DO DOWNLOAD HERE: SIZE Matters

In 2008, I heard the best DJ-Set in my life. It was when Steve Angello visited Rotterdam. This friday he's returning to the Netherlands with his SIZE MATTERS tour, and I've got my ticket!

To celebrate this exciting evening with my friends and the success of the SIZE label, I've made a short mix with almost all of the recent SIZE releases.

I hope you will enjoy this musical journey through one of the most groundbreaking labels!

The Last Beep

Axwell vs. Boys Noize - Heart Attack (Jura's "Last Beep" Mash Up) by ThisIsJura2

After my post about axwell's new track, I started to think about my own existence as a producer. I haven't done anything really. If I want to follow my dream to have my own label some day, I'll have to make my own tracks. So I decided to learn how. I've wasted to much time with my mash ups.

I will not be making mash ups/edits ect. anymore until I've learned to make my own productions too. I will continue with my mixes though, SHS 004 is on the way.

But for now, the last tone of my mash ups has beeped.

Monday Has Survived | The Rex: Opinion Is King

Axwell - Heart Is King by axwellofficial

If your listen to big room, or almost any form of electronic music, you won't deny that every Axwell single is something big. It doesn't matter if you like it or not, it's always dominating the charts.

Let me start by saying that I am a huge Axwell fan. His track "Feel The Vibe" made me fall in love with the big room sound. The fact that he takes years to fully master every single of his, is reason enough to be careful while judging his new productions.

When I first heard it on a video, dubbed "heart 2010/heart attack" at the time, I was very excited. When I heard the teaser, I was still incredibly excited. But it occured to me that there where a lot of negative comments. Not just by the occasional Tiësto/Guetta fanboy lunatics, but also from people who enjoy mr. Hedford his music as much as I do.

Some of them claimed he ripped off "Elements of Life" and there were a lot of comments implying he tried to copy Daft Punk. But the comment that got to me the most was "axwell, you can do better". I was dazzled at first but after hearing the whole track, I can relate to the negative comments.

I believe a lot of people who visited this trailer are into axwell his music and not into the whole EDM scene. This is different. Nowhere near the standard productions you hear today. To me this track is revolutionizing. I've never heard this kind of rythem in a dance track, very refreshing. Some people can't appreciate that and in their blind lust for an everyday joe's progressive track, they reply negative to this video.

But hey, if we wouldn't be able to express our opinions, music wouldn't even exist.

I bought the track, and throughly enjoyed it (still do while typing this), and you can do too:

SUPERSIZE ME!!!

It's been a while since my last night out, thanks to Holland's her poor clubbing accomodations (The festivals are great though), but SIZE Records will help me out of my misery!

Steve Angello, AN21 & Max Vangelli are visiting Amsterdam on their SIZE tour and I'm going!

Will post some videos with hopefully new ID's and pics the day after.

Sunday Has Survived | Natural Selection: Top 10 March

01. Joris Voorn - Incident (Miyagi) - Rejected

I love joris his work. He's a proven master of melody, just look at his mix for the Balance Series.
If someone ask me about a typical house track, I will let him hear this one. The piano combined with the solid smooth kicks, claps, soft carefull melody, completed with a brilliant vocal loop, explains the essence of house in its 7 minute long original mix. Track of the year? Who knows.

02. David Tort - One Look (Axwell vs. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Remix) - Axtone
03. Above & Beyond - Sun & Moon (Kim Fai Remix) - Anjunabeats
04. Tiësto & Mark Knight feat. Dino - Beautiful World (Original Mix) - Toolroom
05. Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer - By All Means (Solarity Remix) - Anjunadeep
06. Benny Benassi - Cinema (Congorock Remix) - Ultra
07. D.I.M. & Tai - Glass (Original Mix) - Boysnoize Records
08. Alesso - Dynamite (Original Mix) - Refune
09. Avicii - Street Dancer (Sneaker Fox Remix) - Vicious
