Remember Anjunabeats vol 9 week? Well it sure turned out to be justifiable: The track of the week is from one of the four tracks on the Anjunabeats volume 9 sampler!
Also, very suprisingly, Pryda ended up very high once more. I generally don't like Prydz that much, since his latest work tended to be a little bit soulless. But after 2night in September, he again has shown me he is well on his way back!
Furthermore, the Luke has scored big time this week. Lucas released his monster remix for Chris Lake, aswell has his equally dangerous edit for two new Mixmash talents and his often featured single together with Sander! The sundown remix really needed to grow on me, but now I can't do without anymore! Timing is an important factor here. The other track, Dutchano, couldn't be left out because of it's excellent new take on Dutch house and piano. I have a weakness for risky tracks who don't take the highroad. But it did took some time before I got that. Same goes for Anjunadeep's head honcho Jaytech with his "Overdrive", which was also featured on Anjunabeats 9.
As said before, a stunning track from the sampler pack.

01. Sunny Lax - Contrast (Original Mix) - Anjunabeats
Like I said before when this became the track of my week, the delicious combo of power and melody couldn't be resisted. I must have listened to certain TATW episodes dozens of times, because "Contrast" was being played in them. The beat seems to power itself up with every kick, like a tsunami does. It's incredible power is only barely contained with a sweet soft melody in the background that prevents your speakers from being completely blown up by Lax his ravaging bass-line. It makes me really excited to what the Hungarian newcomer has to offer in 2012.
02. Guy J & Henry Saiz - Meridian (Pryda Remix) - Bedrock
03. Chris Lake - Sundown (Laidback Luke Remix) - Ultra
04. Jaytech - Overdrive (Original Mix) - Anjunadeep
05. The Madison & Simon J - Follow Up - Enhanched Progressive
06. Avesta & B Valley - Dutchano (Laidback Luke Edit) - Mixmash
07. Laidback Luke & Sander Van Doorn - Who's Wearing The Cap? (Original Mix) - Mixmash
08. Komytea - Pentagon (Original Mix) - Anjunadeep
09. Boomjinx - Phoenix From The Flames (Omnia & The Blizzard Remix) - Anjunabeats
10. Lana Del Rey - Videogames (Jamie Woon Remix) - Stranger

Monday Has Survived | The Rex: Contrast
It's the week of the Anjunabeats volume 9 compilation! It will be my first compilation from Anjunabeats ever, and I am well excited! The promo video alone made me order it straight away. I wish I had the skills to make this kind of animation...
The overall vibe of the compilation is influenced by Tokyo, one of the many places the trio Above & Beyond have played their hearts out. The compilation features two new tracks from the label bosses and a lot of other great tracks.
Every year, a compilation is accompanied by an "album sampler" which features 4 tracks in one bundle. Although all four of the tracks are great, there's one that really stands out! Sunny Lax his "Contrast" was already one of the Evolutionary tracks recently, but I didn't know it was going to be on the sampler. Now I finally have this monster track available for every second of the day!
Can't wait for the compilation itself!

Saturday Has Survived | Evolutionary: Contrast
It's mid weekend again, and time for another future classic. This week's near distant favorite is of courtesy of Anjunabeats. With this label almost certainly being in my top 3 labels from this year, it couldn't have stayed un-featured any longer!
In this week's TATW (Trance Around The World) radio show, Above & Beyond revealed one of the many new singles on the new Anjunabeats compilation coming out this November. "Contrast" is a marriage of trance and progressive house. I don't know Sunny Lax, the creator of this gem, all that well but I know his style is some kind of fusion between power and melody. Just the way I like it.
The bassline helps you to get in a 6 minute river of pleasant tones. Can't wait till the compilation finally arrives!
