Friday Has Survived | Mix: Cherry Has Survived 001 (Special Mix)

A brand new concept! Indie is one of the finest genres of music out there. But it differs a lot from my favourite genre, House. Me and my girlfriend argue a lot about our music, since she is in love with the acoustic side of music, and I with the electronic. With the help op 10 tracks, I try to bring these two enemies together once a month!

00. Jura - The Coca Cola Cherry Intro (CHS Version)

This month, I open with my self created "Coca Cola Cherry" Intro. It happens to be my favorite beverage and hence the name (does not make any sense, I know). I recorded the sound of an opening Cherry Can and the open air with a electronic sample to kick the mix of in style!

01. Polarsets - Sunshine Eyes (Original Version)

The first track is my favorite Indie-Dance track of the year. The perfect example of how these two can come together and form a beautiful harmonic yet powerful masterpiece! Perfect for my first ever "Cherry Has Survived" mix!

02. Congorock - Sirius (Original Mix)

The second one is the brilliant powerful indie dance track from Congorock.
Combining a Rave-like vibe with classic arcade elements,
he has created one of the biggest party monsters of 11'!

03. Nina Kinert - The Art Is Hard (Original Version)

Next up, is a pure indie track. Nina Kinert is really an artist that you should look into.
The vibe of the song is a bit uneasy at first, but it grows on you. Before you know it, "The Art Is Hard" will be on your iPod for those rainy afternoons!

04. Kraak & Smaak feat. Romanthony - Let's Go Back (Chocolate Puma Remix)

Kraak & Smaak are one of the last remaining Vinyl addicted producers in the scene.
The Dutch duo have teamed up with Romanthony to make an absolute classic! Another dutch duo, called Chocolate Puma, have made the tune perfect with their fantastic rework.

05. Niki & The Dove - Mother Protect (Alex Metric Remix)

Alex Metric is one of those producers who have a daring disregard for genre. Dance, Indie-Dance, Electronica, House. He does it all. This remix for Niki & The Dove is another perfect example of how these two can work together. You should also check the original version, if you happen to like a slower more acoustic version.

06. Skylar Grey - Invisible (Dirty South Remix)

Never before have I heard such a powerful and melodic drop with guitars in it. One of the best remixes of the year by one of the most underrated producers of the century! Both Skylar Grey and Dirty South are artist you need to follow!

07.Avicii - Fade Into Darkness (Vocal Club Mix)

Clearly a house song, but if you know where the sample came from, you will definitely agree that this is special. Avicii is storming the charts with excellent productions, and this track shows why.

08. Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Jerry Rekonius Bootleg)

Yes, this new Coldplay track has been the center of many discussions. Swedish House Mafia has
made a remix for it, and since that got out, it seems every producer is trying to do join the swedes in their mission to make Coldpay club suitable. In my opinion, not the Swedes, but Jerry Rekonius has succeeded! Leaving the acoustic core of the song alive, but making it ten times as powerful with haunting synths and a killer bassline, the winner for the international Coldplay Remix Award has been found!

09. Rebecca & Fiona - If She Was Away (Adrian Lux Remix)

Adrian was one of the first producers that I know of, that used acoustic elements in his productions. His "Teenage Crime" track is still one of my personal favorites! This is not his first remix for Rebecca & Fiona, but certainly his best! Combining the perfect vocal of the track with a sick beat, Lux has shown us again why he is such a high requested remixer!

10. Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix)

Lykke Li is an artist my gf and me both like. I think there is no one on the world that finds her voice not likeable. The Magician has taken an original great song to an higher level,
putting the emphasis on the brilliant piano.
