It's a very rare thing when a music video sticks with me. It's even more special when it's a clip for a House song. It seems almost every House Music Video needs weird girls and spastic effects. It rarely contains a message or moves you like art can. But to my uttermost suprise, the video for Natural Disaster from Laidback Luke, was actually pretty damn good!
The video tells the short tale of a boy with a "Laidback Luke" addiction. The director took the popular aspects of a drug addiction, like dealing and parental concern, and formed it into a EDM version of it. At the end of the video, the boy has run out of "Laidback Pills". Instead of descending into misery, he suddenly finds himself at a liveset from Luke. As the video fades out, you can see him disappearing, while in a state of saturation, into the dancefloor.
Nothing really special you say? Well, you need to get the underlying message of the video. Nowadays, Clublife consist of dicks/sluts wearing gold and fake jewelry looking for a fight/dick. The true people who listen and visit clubs with heart, are disappearing as I speak. The fact that this boy is being seen as an addict, just because he lives for EDM, underlines this.
Damn fine video indeed.
